Garmin crumb trail & Strava

If you are plotting a route on Garmin Connect that you don't know it is worth going over it with google earth because the route does not always follow roads you can cycle down, I have been caught out a couple of time, the worst way up in the Peaks which resulted in me carrying the bike for 2 miles.
With the breadcrumb trail it can be hard to pick up you route again when you have to detour.
Ride with GPS always goes by good roads but sometimes those roads are Motorways  It needs vetted during route building too.

I guess thats better than some of the tracks I have been sent down, nice and easy to spot on the route plan, 6 lanes and the road number starting with "M" is alo a bit of a giveaway.

just provided you actually double check before you turn off... unlike my husband who I had to yell at in Greece to get his attention as he turned up a motorway slip road following the 'normal' signs for Athens!
