Garmin connect problems

so i plug in my garmin and open GC and they try to sync but it said there is a problem syncing with GC or something like that so i put it down to the fact that i am still running XP on this pc so i go and fetch the windows 8 laptop and try again and it just does the same thing!
is this likely just a server problem and it will be fixed and working again in a few hours or tomorrow or is it a problem my end of things? GC website is working fine so i might change to classic version again and just upload manually for the mo'

Same here as it happens.I usually put any problem down to my general ineptitude,on this occasion at least it seems Im not the cause of the problem-lets just hope the situation resolves itself soon.Mind you, I dont seem to be able to sync without updating the b****y timezone on each occasion,which annoys me.That probably is me though!

That's how I do it with both of ours goes to strava and garmin.connect. It takes longer to boot laptop up than to actually upload data

I had the same issue a couple of hours ago with Garmin Express giving an error. Gave up and uploaded manually by browsing for the file on my device.

Same problem here this afternoon. I suspect the Garmin servers were down or overloaded.

I have had this problem with Garmin Express for about 2 weeks now.

I just grab the file off the 200 dump it onto the Lappie and then manually upload.

I don't dislike my GC but support is very sketchy and the forums etc are very hard to search to get answers.

Garmin don't appear to be doing much on the development front with CG either.

Had the same problem myself earlier. Even manual upload to Garmin Connect failed. Gave up and uploaded manually to Strava.

What really is shocking for such a large company is how far back this kind of issue goes. I'm seeing the same complaints from 3 years ago.

I was going to say just try uploading the file manually but @SpokeyDokey beat me to it, it can also be done manually straight from the unit as the unit is seen as an external device, unlike my bryton, where I have to down load from the unit as a tcx and upload that to where ever, tis but a minor inconvenience for using a device that basically doesn't falter.
You can now sync from the bryton site to strava I think.

Mine too,with no apparent problems,which is suspicious in itself!

Garmin tweeted to say they had problems and now back to normal.
