you are bloody good my friend achieving 47mph during the cool down of a ride!Went on the Turbo Trainer today. My Garmin told Garmin Connect that my average speed was 17.4 mph which sounds about right.
But it also told Garmin Connect that my max was 47 mphand that was at 80 mins in to a 90min session somehow I don't think so...
what garmin do you have and how do you calculate speed on a turbo is it done with a cadence sensor?Went on the Turbo Trainer today. My Garmin told Garmin Connect that my average speed was 17.4 mph which sounds about right.

is the cadence and speed sensor one unit?I have a 305 forerunner which I use for running. I set the GPS to off and link it to the Cadence and speed sensor..
Yes Garmin GSC 10is the cadence and speed sensor one unit?
Cheers Ed
not km as average speed is correct in mph but i did convert 27 miles(my real max speed) into km and it was very close to what strava said for milesAre you sure Strava isn't working in km/hr?
PS How come your MCL target is only 1,000 miles for the year when you will be doing getting on for that just on your LEJOG, and I think you said elsewhere that you were following that with a JOGLE?
sounds a feasible explanation not too bothered about correcting it just confused! still doesn't explain the speed issue that both me and @Stu Smith hadSounds like you had a satellite blip and lost one of them for a few moments and it was estimating your position from the remaining ones until a moment (second) or two later it found the other/another satellite and corrected itself.
If you were on a road, there is a website that can correct it for you http://strava-tools.raceshape.com/snap/ though I will point out I have not tried the site myself
your max speed will have been distorted by you suddenly switched from a road to the field and back (as far as it is concerned) and could be accurate for the signal loss. It will also have added a few metres or more to your distance. If you run it through the snap to road thingy it will probably iron out the max speed issue. I have had them well above +400kph in the past because of satellite issues...not km as average speed is correct in mph but i did convert 27 miles(my real max speed) into km and it was very close to what strava said for miles
and the end to end (still not sure which way but probably lejog) is next year and as i am cycling to the start point and home from the finish point (about 2000 miles) i will set MCL target for next year at about 3.5 or 4k

fair enough might give it a go then in any case i think i think i was going rather fast thereyour max speed will have been distorted by you suddenly switched from a road to the field and back (as far as it is concerned) and could be accurate for the signal loss.
