Garmin 800 Problem?

I have a Garmin 800 for two months and on the display screen I had three options showing.
1/.. Total Time.
2/.. Speed.
3/.. Distance.
The problem is the distance segment has gone blank/ not reading the display, all it has is a tiny black dot.

Got any ideas anyone?

on the display field you were using for distance, try pressing and holding down for a few seconds this will then allow you to change the data that is displayed. Try changing it to something like calories or another random selection. This will then show whether it is the display that faulty or whether it has simply changed the data field. If the new selection works then repeat the process and select distance again and see if this solves the problem for you.

Not sure how I got there but I did clear it and reset it and it seemed OK on a ride out, so hopefully as you say its cleared its self..

Occasionally if I stop for a coffee and throw my 800 into my pocket without pausing or stopping it I've noticed that sometimes when I get back off again some of the fields are different or its showing an alternate screen. I've always put it down to it resting on something else in my pocket and this process happening unintentionally, it's always reset ok. Glad this worked for you. Cheers
