Garmin 500

Hi all. Has anyone updated there garmin 500. mine is still as it was when i bought it and just wondered if it is worth updating it as i have read that some people's have died when they updated . cheers

I have never updated my 200 or 500.
If it ain't broke and all that.

However, check out what the updates are for then decide.

I ran an upgrade on mine which totally knackered it - eventually spoke to Garmin support who talked me through removing the upgrade file which brought it back to life. I now just totally ignore the upgrade offers, as @ianrauk says if it aint broke...

updated my edge 500 with no problems
but did delete all the historic files... so now loads to garmin/strava site faster now

I have upgraded the garmin through many versions of firmware, although I'm not aware of any improvement for many of the fixes.
