i have a garmin edge 200.
All of a sudden I'm getting "device memory is full" messeges when I try to update the software. if I try to upload a route, I get " can't be copied because there isn't enough free space"
I've deleted all old routes etc. and it's still not letting me add routes.
I've done this in the past with no problems at all
Thanks in advance

Thanks, I've looked at that but not getting anywhere. I can't work out how to open a command window on my work windows 8 PC. And I'm using a Mac at home.

When I plug the garmin in it says that I only have 332kb free of 4.35 MB. But there is nothing in any of the folders when I go into it.

It's driving me mad! Anyone else had this issue?

Contact the garmin helpline? They have a good rep for customer service. Expect there's a phone number on their website

Have you tried a factory reset?

I'm stunned at how little free space there is on my Edge 200 as well and when they said it could be used as a storage device...Haa Haaaa

I think the Garmin Express app is the normal way to update the device but I'm guessing that didnt work?

Win 8 - yours Works PC might not allow this but:

"To open a command prompt, follow these steps:
  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
  2. Enter cmd in the search box, and then tap or click Command Prompt."
Good luck

thanks both.
no, you are right, I cant do that on a works pc.
however I did phone the Garmin helpline as suggested, very helpfull. it would appear its to do with hidden files, and I need to use something called "terminal" to show them. will try from home later.

There is usually an option to show hidden files windows explorer ->organise-> folder and search options-view (tab)->hidden files and folders then check the radio button for hidden files.
