had a great idea today, having not the $$$ for a bike work stand.

we have loads of these laying about

so I put two in the roof joists, and took 2 more bending the threaded bit into a hoop. Hooked the bent ones over the ones in the ceiling and then lifted the bike onto them. Voila!!

worked brilliantly, I can get around the bike and everything is between head and chest height.

chuffed! :wahhey:

I've used the same hooks for hanging bikes, tyres, wheels etc in my garage. They are very useful, but I have never thought of replacing a bike stand with them. I hope there isn't too much movement in them for all your tinkering.

its not too bad at all for movement, you can manipulate the front wheel quite nicely from side to side if you hook under the stem, the other under the saddle rails provides a solid hold.

even spinning the rear wheel at full chat to adjust gears wasnt a problem. Was great to have everything at my height!
