I was looking on ebay over the last few days and noticed some what looked like bargins on full kit team clothing, on further investigation noticed the sellers were located in various countries, nothing new there, but all the auctions showd the same one picture of said clothing but directed you to the same website, this being "samewood.com".
So I checked out samewood and they have what seems like "to good to be true" prices. Shipping is free anywhere in the world. Here's the link to there website :-
http://www.samewood.com/index.php

So, my question is this :-
Have any other forum members had dealings / ordered from them?
I know other people will say the stuff is "copies" but, aren't the "original" team strips etc made in china with cheap labour etc..etc.. and, would you know the difference when you are wearing it?

I really like a lot of the old and new strips, and I'm thinking of buying from them but not till I hear back from other forum members on this.

Thanks

in the search button top right put in 'chinese clothing'. You will find plenty of threads asking the same thing.

Considering most bikes are made in china maybe they are just flogging them direct to the public instead of having a middleman ie . your local lbs.

And the companies who pay for the R&D  Would you buy a bike without any sort of guarantees or manufacturer warranty on the frame (and any components it may come with)...I wouldn't. Not sure how you'd insure it either (well if you want a pay out anyhow)

A hooky shirt is one thing but I don't want a cheap copy of something that could kill me if it failed

Hi , I,m looking for winter lycra cycling kit, was wondering if its worth getting the arm and leg peices or a new suite withlong legs and arms ?
has anyone experince of the arm leg sleaves,

trouble with the full suits is you either have tp pretend to be part of team sky (how did the fat bald guy get in?) or think your a 5 year old with tigers or dragons all over your colthes.

I have some cheap 'chinese' copy race kit and some authentic race kit which came from the team in question rather than a retailer and you can most certainly tell the difference, the fit is better, the material is better, and the pad in the shorts is better in the genuine kit.
As these are both for the same team you can put them side by side and compare, the depth of colour on the copy kit is wrong as well, but not enough to notice unless next to the real deal.
I know the difference.

My husband got a chinese replica cycling kit from ebay and after 3 years and several washes is as good as new so I would say outstanding quality

I ordered this two weeks ago so I'm expecting it's arrival shortly and shall report back on it.

you still have to pretend to be part of a team - its all team stripe- or have a wolf on your chest.
the skeleton might be usefull for cpr if having a heart attack -

I,m not a professional cyclist and have no desire to pretend to be one. I just want some plain kit with no logos , team designs or animals on it.
bit of reflective strip possibly - i,ve got it in summer kit - short legs and arms - but I cannot find it in winter kit.

Arm and leg warmers in Roubaix fabric are exceptional. A good merino base layer, a decent SS jersey and some arm warmers is probably the most versatile and warmest yet breathable combination you will get without spending a tonne of cash on high end clothing.

As for your legs, again leg warmers with good bib shorts are very versatile, not quite as warm as a pair of full length bib tights though, a pair of Roubaix fabric bib tight's will be very toasty, but not as versatile. You could get some winter running tights and wear them over or under your bib shorts as a cheaper option than buying bib-tights. This will be warmer than leg warmers and summer bib shorts but not so versatile on the move. Also you could get some thermal underwear and use that with summer bib shorts and roubaix leg warmers for warmth and maximum versatility.

I always vote for versatility, because even in winter you can get pretty uncomfortably warm on hard efforts in the hills etc, but then will freeze your arse off on the descent!

I do believe, unless you are sponsored by the team, you will fall foul of the Velominati rules and a hundred years of floods will follow...

Then I'd check out Wiggle's own brand DHB, sorry I thought you were after something super cheap from a foreign seller that wasn't team specific and doesn't make you look like a child. In which case fake nalini or santini from china is the way to go and is what I have ordered.

Roubaix arm and leg warmers and a merino base layer are worth investing in, and a soft shell jacket or gillet. Just give yourself plenty of options with layers so that you can take some off and add on again during a ride and then save the longs for the coldest days.

I am, thanks D87 for the link, really tempted by the prices - I shall have to choose a team I really hate and wear thier strip - just to P them off.
