My 5s came from Merlins, good price, fast delivery.
7s and 5s have cartridge bearings. Easy to replace when they eventually give up the ghost.
3s have cup n cone with high quality balls.
Check out the rider weight recomendations on the owners manual bit in the Fulcrum link, they do have limits.
I always tell this one if anyones unsure of their strength...dropped my front wheel into the slot of a storm drain cover, not slow, not fast. It went with a hell of a bang and i though FFS  thats going to be buckled or bent. Not a mark on the rim, still true. Remarkable, it really was a heck of a bang.
I found later it did mark the innertube where it impacted.

I got a set of racing 7 last year after experiencing lateral whel flex while cornering in excess of 30mph on fast winding downhills which was a tad scary.
I got em for just £106 delivered by CRC and they are brilliant so I only use them when on longer rides.
I swear by the.

Got a set of 5 Evolutions and a set of Campag Zondas (identical spec to Fulcrum 3s apart from the branding & spoke pattern). The 5s are excellent wheels, but the Zondas are definitely a step up.

Don't Campag make and or own Fulcrum?

I use a pair of fulcrum 7's on one bike, and 5's on the other, they're utterly reliable, tough and true.
Yep. And noisy! (Freewheel that is)

i brought a stock Spesh allez elite 2011 cant find the make of wheels onliune (and cant check atm) but wondering which of these would be a good replacement when the rims need replacing within reason SWMBO is hard to convince when buying stuff.

Even the 7s will be an upgrade on the stock wheels you have there. Mavic Aksiums also worth a look in the same price range.

so am i right in saying the lower the number the higher the price/quality? looking for these as my main commuter wheels so need them VFM in braking distance strength etc and if they lighter tham my originals added bonus will be needed them for when my stock ones are too worn, or if i can convince the other half to make it look better and keep the stocks as spares. FYI i do 240 mile a week on some good some GREAT (just been resurfaced) and some v v poor tarmac.

and on a side note whats the CX stand for mean ?
