Just bought these wheels and the inner tube valves rattle like crazy in the rims whilst riding (60mm prestas).

I read literally hundreds of reviews of these wheels and never once heard of this problem. I have temp fixed it using a bit of insulating tape wrapped around the valve stems so no noise now.

Is there a better fix or a way to avoid this problem?

Mine did rattle too - I think the valve hole is slightly oversized, and the leverage on the long stem in the deep rims doesn't help.

I've just put the valve nuts on to snug up the valve stem, and there's no rattling now  I know that some will recoil in horror on reading that I've committed such a heinous crime as fitting valve nuts, but I really don't give a flying ;)

They are super wheels :becool:

What brand tubes are you using? Threaded or not?
I've got threaded 60mm Continental prestas and haven't noticed a peep from them on these hoops.

If threaded then you can always use the valve nuts as per @Ffoeg, but as you'll want to tighten them up tight to eliminate the rattle, be careful not to scratch the finish off (easily done), and be prepared to be subject to ridicule ;)

EDIT:
Just been down to the bike in my lunch break, and there is quite a bit of wiggle room in those rim holes isn't there! I guess I haven't noticed because mine don't seem to make any audible noise... Cue irritating rattle all the way home!

Snap! Conti 'Race 28' 60mm valved tubes here too

Not sure if the rattle is an effect of the oversized valve hole, or the simple fact that roads within the Carlisle District have been poorly managed for the last 10 years? Nip over the boundary into neighbouring Borough councils and the rattle is less evident.

I was toying with the idea of slipping a short length of heatshink tubing on the valve stem, to pad out the gap.... but the size I need is the only one I don't have

I had already binned the valve nut things but that would solve the problem too. I'll stick with the black insulating tape for now. Actually if it's put on carefully and so that just about 2mm shows on the valve once fitted it looks quite smart!
As a side note, I am slightly disappointed by the finish of these wheels, both in terms of how true and round they were when they arrived and also that they had a few marks on them - however, I guess for little over £200 for a wheelset what else should I expect!

Mine were spot on when delivered both laterally and radially .. .amazingly so, in fact. However (and this is only a minor point) the I was surprised the stickers weren't aligned with the valve hole
The didn't appear to spin as well as my old wheels when first fitted, but now I've got a few hundred miles on them they are just getting better and better. They are not the fastest accelerating wheels but once up to speed they seem vary happy to stay there
