After purchasing my Fulcrums and ultremo R1s, i'm really happy with them and can see improvements. As its approaching winter do i ;

A- Go back to my original wheel set (which are 1kg heavier)

B- keep them and put something more suitable for winter i.e Duranos

I'm aware there really hard wearing wheels but can't decide

any input?

My winter commuter had a pair of R500 from new. After 3 winters, you can see light corrosion round the spoke holes on the hub, like a light discolouration. Its not important to me, its a working bike, used in all weathers but despite regular cleaning, winters showing its mark.

My fulcrums were used daily all last winter and still look as good as new. Only problem was the front bearings got water in and started rumbling, the lbs replaced them though and said it was due to a poor seal.

I am looking at a similar situation, except with Mavic Ksyrium Elite's.

I will go back to the crap wheels, and ride my crosser on really bad weather days. The trouble is my crosser will be used for racing at the weekends, so don't really want to fit mudguards, and then take them off every weekend, so I will probably end up riding the road bike more often than not, also without mudguards :rolleyes:
