I replaced mine last week on my Racing 7's and bought the more expensive one for £1.98 - I'm sure the prices have been reversed!!! I bought two just in case I needed a spare.

The Red Metal wheels are MTB wheels so I'm not sure it'd fit. There are other places on the net (Ribble & JE James) that are doing a box of 5 for around £8 posted.

Can I ask how long the spring lasted on yours? And also if your bearings are ok?

Not sure how long I've had them. Maybe a year and a half to two years. First problem I've had. The bearings are like new. Just to confirm, you got the "red" and it fitted your racing 7's OK?

No, I bought the other one (that says specific to R7) but it was only £1.98. When I bought it, the Red Metal one was £3.98, and the Racing 7 one was £1.98. Very bizarre!

I've only had mine since October but they're on my winter bike and they've probably done 1,500miles since then. The bearings are shot and need replaced, that's this weekend's job!

Very bizarre indeed. I did e-mail them asking if the red was compatible, the other one didn't appear at that time, auto reply but no advice, then when I checked today they're both on. They both look the same as does Ribble's but they're out of stock. I think I'll try e-mailing CRC again to ask about the prices.

Telephoned CRC who said the Red isn't compatible with the R7's but they didn't sound too sure, so I'm not convinced.
I'll use my other bike while I mull it over.
