Hi guys, I’m after your opinion about the wheelset in question! I came across these for a bargain price i.e. on sale for at just £110. I know they are not carbon wheels but even for 35mm depth alloy wheels in my opinion it’s a bargain? Basically I just wanted to sex up my new Ridley Fenix as it came standard with Shimano RS171 wheels. Nothing wrong with them, matter of fact they got very good score for durability. It is purely for the purpose of improving the appearance and not performance because the weight difference is only 170grams. I have a very tight budget of around £200 so carbon wheelset is out of the equation. Hence after spending considerable time i narrowed it down to Vision wheelset with 35mm depth on sale price at £250ish but then came across Fulcrum wheelset with similar specs for only £110.
Has anyone has ever owned Fulcrum wheels or know about their quality and reliability?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated as always 🙏🏻😊

Good morning,

I had a pair of Fulcrum 900s and they were fine for price, although they didn't feel like Campag wheels on the cheap. However I only did a limited number of miles as the rear wheel was trashed by being run into by a car.

The only thing about being on clearance is, are you happy with rim width/tyre you want to use, do the axles match what you need, do you already have the correct rotors or will you need a new one/adaptor (center lock->6 both.)

Bye

Ian

I still have Fulcrum 5 Evo's on my roadbike. I used to do 6k miles PA and they're very well used but still perfectly functioning. Bearings have been replaced but they weren't high quality ones from the manufacturer.
I did drop down a manhole cover once with a hell of a bang...oh Jesus, that's it, they'll be knackered now I thought...not a mark on them. It really was a big hit.
If they're made to the same quality now, I'd have no problem whatsoever buying them.
