The recently fitted FSA Mega exo Bottom bracket has developed slight play, only a couple of mil.
It can't be worn out can it? Probably done 2000 mile. All bolts tightened to correct torque. Any ideas?

Ignore the above 'blackberry ' apparently BlackBerry, confuse d by bottom bracket typo

Title altered to correct it for you.

Check the chainring bolts, if they are all present and correct, and torqued up properly, and you still have play, make sure that the crank bolt is torqued up, if you’ve still got play, the B.B. may need looking at

I didn't get much more out of that (maybe 3-4 thousand km?) before my FSA BB completely disintegrated - the FSA chainrings had worn too at that point (and I've never had a chainring wear that quickly before in 10's of thousands of commuting miles). So I replaced the whole lot with a Shimano BB and crankset....

This might be your best plan. Youll need to buy an insert to convert to Shimano Hollowtech.

Yeah. Thanks, the previous FSA only lasted around 5000 mile. Winter road bike. Compared to the shimano on old bike did around 8000. Loaded touring.
I notice the spindle is 19mm. Also the wave washer is missing! Aha! Hunting for it now.
Rear mech/ cassette is campagnolo.

No expert in this particular system. Since Mega Exo 86 is a pressfit install any play must be in the bearings or between bearing and shell. Was it a DIY job or did your LBS do it ? Did you/they use the FSA Go/NoGo gauge when installing? This might help you:

I,m too tight to hand to lbs, since I forked out over 3 grand for level 2 and 3 training!

Ideally we need to know which Mega Exo?
Omega, Gossamer, specific model preferably.

A bit confusing but the blown parts diagram on that page states BB6000 parts on the top and BB7*** on the bottom, but heres what i found with BB4000.....

Item 2 on that diagram looks like a top hat dust seal. On BB4000, it actually is made of plastic and it sits between the axle and the bearing, ie there is no direct contact between axle and bearing. The plastic sleeve / dust cover takes all the force and is a poor design, as it wears it will give you a few mm of slop.. Mine went at around 2K miles. But if you can get the spares (and you can on 4000s)...theyre relatively easy to fit.

New and old (BB4000 of course)....IF its the same style seal/spacer/end cover, whatever they call it.
