Hi
Just picked up a specialized mtb running a triple on the front. Problem is that the front mech rubs against the outer chainring on certain gears. Not great with front mechs to looking for a solve. Also the back mech jockey wheels also rub against the largest cog in some gears. However I believe I just need to adjust to screw on the back of rear mech for this? Any help much appreciated

To check cable tension on a triple the mech should be 'centred' on the chain when the chain is on the middle ring (and the shifter is on the middle ring setting too.) if it is catching on the outer when you select that then the outer limit stop needs a tweak, likewise inner ring, inner stop.

You tube has loads of videos to watch, and once you know how its easy to do, so watch a few. It must be easy, i managed to set the rear deraiileur, index the gears, and reset the front mech all in about half an hour, and if i can do it, so can anyone. It does take a bit of fiddling once the basic settings are done, but its just fine tuning, trial and error. You will need allen keys and a screwdriver, use a good fitting screwdriver or you will knacker the screw heads.

Gear service will sort all of these. If competent DIY, if not LBS.

would set the gears to neural and release the cable, then start again, 5 mins
