hi everyone

Can any of you peeps advise on a front light, I've had the Cree ones but both chargers have gone down! So looking at getting something more reliable.

Thanks for any input/advice

Eldridge.

Exposure flash and flare lights get a good rating but they are not usb!

Any Lezyne light will be good, I have the micro drive and its just as bright as my cree but smaller, usb rechargeable and easy to remove.

Cateye GVolt (not volt) or Axa Greenline if you want battery.

Most lights on sale in the UK aren't sufficient for you to be regarded as lit in law. Many are obnoxiously dazzling or insufficient to see by.

Are you sure it's the charger and not the battery? It's more likely it's the latter over the former.

Yeah could be the battery, I know one thing very dangerous when it fails half way through a ride at night. Not impressed at all.

Thanks though.

Just to add this light is for cycling down the lanes in Cheshire so needs to be bright enough to see where I am going, I had two Cree lights one was 1000 lumens the other 4000 and I much preferred the latter.

Anymore help would be great

I'm willing to pay for the right light so long as it's reliable.

Thank you Eldridge.

Depends on budget but have been well chuffed with my Exposure Strada and TraceR;if that's too pricey then the Cat-eye Volts,my 300 (now used as a back-up or flash)has done ok for the last couple of years but you would probably need the higher ones for unlit roads and the charge light is dickey on mine now.
The Lezyne macro duo I have is good but the run time is poor on high setting(not bothered though as I got it with a ProCycling sub).

I've a 120 lumen light which is fine on unlit fen lanes. Lumens are a meaningless measure in so many ways. Not least that if a light is vomitting photons into space, they're doing you no good, and if it's sticking them in the eyes of oncoming traffic, they could kill you. Ban the lumen! Cite the German standard lux measurements.

Why is it then the battery and chargers keep failing?
Probably because they're cheapo cr@p. Cree is the brand of led, used by lots of no-name lights sold with cheapo batteries and chargers. If you're happy with the lights you could buy a decent quality charger and batteries for it.

Yeah the light is ok, it's the battery and charger where it falls down!

Where do you suggest buying these two from?

Thanks the snail.
