I think i have come across a bargain. Just thought i would let anyone who is looking for a high power front light know......,
I have just purchased a LED LENSER P7 torch from COTSWOLD OUTDOORS for 30 Pounds [reduced from 55 Pounds cos its being discontinued]. It has a 4.67watt CREE LED and gives off 200 Lumens and its a torch usually used by police. It uses 4 x AAA batteries and the packet states that battery life is 60hrs. The light has a high power and low power mode and is focusable.
I was thinking about what i would have bought for night rides which would have been the HOPE VISION 1 for c.75 Pounds - an outstanding light which gives off 240 Lumens for c.5-6 hours then abruptly cuts out [as i have been told].
So from a performance/lumens to the Pound perspective, i bought the LED LENSER. You cant get it on the website and is in-store only as its discontinued.
The only thing you need to do is get a mounting bracket and tape the torch to it and it will be a bike light.
Hope this helps someone out..... let me know what you think..
