Only use my bike for fitness purposes and don`t deliberately ride out during dark. Would like an LED front light not to light my way but rather to scream at emerging traffic " look out cyclist approaching !" during the winter gloom. Want I would like is something with perhaps about 3 LED`s and most importantly something that will sit flush along the mid front edge of my bars .. so I don`t have to look at some monstrosity perched on top of my bars. Anyone out there using summat like that or know of the very dab ? Ta very much for any useful responses.

Here you go.
Cateye EL 135 3 LED Available in White or Black
On flash mode the batteries (2XAA) seem to last forever.

I got one of the cree lights like that about a month ago, I can't believe how bright it is! Came with a good rear light too

+1 Also ordered these lights recently (hasn't arrived yet) but at that price doesn't matter if it only lasts a few months.

I got one of these recently. Ordered it and it came within the week. Not bad from Hong Kong. Probably air freight so that price is about to sky-rocket  .

I too recently ordered one of these, it looks bright when on and the back light looks very good too. Not used in anger though due to a bad cold/chest infection keeping me off the road for the last week.

either get a knog or an electron backupz if you just want flashing that doesn't take up much space

These? http://www.bikeradar...cro-lights-9073

I use the Tesco version of these, which IIRC were a fiver for two. http://www.chainreac...px?ModelID=5763
Astonishingly visible, as long as you aren't mixing it with lots of street lights and traffic.

I do have a great big Eff Off Cateye rear LED bank, though.

I can recommend the Tesco mini LEDs. £4 for a pair - one red, one white.
Not sure I'd use them as my only light, but they make a good backup.
