front gear cable replacment

I have replaced the gear cable to the front mech, everything went well untill I placed the cable on the front mech and I cant get it to from one ring to another.
At the moment the chain is on the small ring, and the cables are conected but I can't get it to shift from the small rinf to the middle or large ring

'Tis all to do with cable tension. Make sure that your front mech lever is in the correct position for your smallest ring. Screw in clockwise any in-line cable adjusters completely. Slacken the cable clamp and pull the cable through it until taught and re-tighten the clamp bolt. Try then to change to the middle ring. If ok then fine, but the chances are you will have to turn an in-line adjuster anti-clockwise until the change can be made smoothly. The change then from middle to largest ring should be ok, but may need another half turn or so on the in-line adjuster.
