Hiya Coco. It wants sorting or further damage will happen, also it may affect the handling of the bike, especially if you have any fast downhills. You may find the bike 'shudders'.
How to fix it ? depends on the kind of bike, what have you got ?

Nothing to worry about in the short term although in the longer term it causes excessive wear.

If the forks are carbon I would sort it out sooner rather than later though.

Because (i assume) its got a 1 inch threaded headset then, you'll need some wrenches big enough for the top locking nut and the bearing cap. They may be the same sized nut, they may be different, but they're big.
Not having seen the specific system they use, the balls may be loose in the headset, ot they may be in cages.

Slacken the topcap, slightly tighten the bearing cap until the play is just taken out, then while holding the bearing cap nut with the wrench (to stop it moving), tighten the topcap.
