Front derailleur

Morning all.
After breaking my rear mech hanger and replacing it, I’ve indexed the rear derailleur and that’s working fine. But I’m finding I can’t shift from the small ring to the big ring now. I’ve adjusted all limiting screws no the front derailleur and barrel adjuster and cable tension. If I pull the cable manually it’ll flick onto the big ring. As soon as I let go of the cable, the derailleur skips back to its old position. The shifter itself sometimes feels a bit ‘soft’ and other times it’s fine. Anything glaring I’m missing?

Cable is tight under downtube and up to clamp.

I’ve just noticed the outboard screw doesn’t seem to be doing anything. I tighten the onboard and the derailleur moves in and out. There’s no movement at all when I tighten or loosen the outboard one

I should start from scratch. Undo the cable and move the mech across by hand to check the hi lo and follow one of the YouTube videos on the subject.

Did that. Seems I had the barrel adjust too tight.... sorted now
