After I had a little fall at college on Tuesday, my front mudguard snapped at both sides of the stays (joint with mudguard itself). It is currently held together with a bit of tape (DIY job at college to get me home).
It appears that the mudguard has been rubbing on my 32c front tire and ended up wearing down and snapping.

Is there any way that I can solve this problem (apart from getting a new tire)?
The rear mudguard is fine because I have a (very slippy) 23c rear tire.

As this is your Steel bike, aren't there clearances and mounting points for full length permanent mudguards? They're much less temperamental in my experience - My SKS Chromoplastics are seemingly bulletproof.

From what I've heard the Cruds are only supposed to accommodate up to 25c, not 32!

im a little tea pot
32c maybee someone got a little excited!! lol.

i ditched my cruds, just cant get on with them! every time i added them all the crud from the roads just started to wear them out. my front one has a groove in it from my gators rubbing before the centre mould line went down!

I know that 32c on the front wasnt the wisest of decisions and it rubs a hell of a lot on the mudguard. But my tire still has plenty of tread left on it from about 3 years of usage (15,000 miles). I dont know how it has lasted this long and it isnt even perishing yet (has a bit of moss growth). Its done well.
The mudguards were just cheap things as metal ones wouldnt fit my bike.
