from commuter to best sportive and road bike

having bought a Giant TCX2 (2011) for commuting 16 miles a day and the occasional off road stint, i now want a more dedicated road/race bike to add to my fleet of mean machines. ill probably have a budget of around £1,500. any and all advice you guys can give will be greatly appreciated. by the way the TCX2 is a fantastic allrounder , my average commute time for the 8 miles through city centre and out the other end up to 250 foot above sea level, is around 28 minutes. i think without traffic and red lights ( which i do stop for) i could probably get it down to 23 - 25 minutes, which for me is pretty good.

Any preferences for your frame? Alu, steel, carbon, titanium? You could get any of those for your budget. Make a decision about which you want first then work from there.
