Hi, I have just set up my TT bike with new ultegra 10 speed cassette and used 101 carbon Planet X wheel. I've installed the spacer provided which seems ok, the lock ring tightens up nicely. However, I'm trying to fine tune the gears and notice there's a lot of side to side play in the freewheel - the cassette and lock ring complete assembly can move probably 2mm in and out of the hub like there's a spacer missing inside?
This should be rigid right?

You might need an additional spacer. If the freehub body moving, if not then an additional spacer will be needed.

Sounds like the freehub is either worn or not tightened up properly (assuming that it is the freehub moving and not the cassette moving on the freehub).

I'm not sure what hubs you have - there may be a hex bolt inside the hub that needs tightening.

Thanks for replies, Planet X branded hub on a 101 carbon TT rim, think I've sorted it.
Yes it was the whole free hub not just the cassette rattling around.
Took the wheel out and removed the cassette and spacer, the "axles" (?) where you slide the QR through were loose and un done, they have Allen key ends and are threaded so just did them up and it pulled the free hub nice and tight again. Popped the cassette back on with the spacer, tightened lock ring and now no side to side play. Guess they came loose through transport as they were second hand I haven't used them yet.

shimano 10 speed cassettes require an additional 1mm spacer, as well as a 1.85mm spacer on 11 speed hub.
