Freakin wet leaves!!!

Just a reminder peeps those leaves are slippy!!!!!

Had my 1st off this year, boy did it hurt. Cold and limping away wjth my knee swollen and bleeding. New shoes fubbared, pride dented but all ok.

So the moral of this is, take care, lol

We had same on a recent ride, poor lady broke her cheek bone, lost control of the bike on wet leaves downhill.

I hate wet leaves whether I'm on the bike or just walking. I seem to have at least one fall each year on them even though I drop my speed at this time of year.

I'd never had a problem with them until last year and I hope I never do again. On a group ride the leader had dismounted ahead on a short but steep descent, to warn us of a greasy tight corner and whilst Id scrubbed speed it wasn't enough and I ended up skidding into him but it was better than skidding into the post behind him

I had my 2nd slither about on the leaves today.
My 1st off was a couple of weeks ago where I fell off at about 3mph and landed at the feet of a pensioner who was walking his dogs. Today I was circumnavigating the bike gates on the cycle path at Bowthorpe. I turned my handlebars to go around but the tyres had other ideas and I sort of fell/got off/perched myself on the top of the bike gate. Nobody saw so that was OK. Got a bruise on my left knee and on my bum.

I've not been using the cycle path close by to us as it's lethal. There are UEA students falling about all over the shop along there.

Sounds nasty. Have a nice hot bath and a cuppa. You'll be less stiff in the morning.

I think the councils leave them on the bikepaths so we have chance for some practice, before they don't bother treating the paths during the icy weather.

I slid off on some wet leaves a few weeks ago resulting in a shattered distal radius, councils should do more to clear them up.
