I'm in the process of planning a tour based on Via Rhona and the French Alps in the summer. The dates I have available are around August 13th to September 10th.
I'm concerned that campsites will be very busy in August and possibly closed in September. I would plan to stay in municipal campgrounds more or less every night.
I would be grateful if anyone could confirm or deny my fears.
Based on the last few years it might be very hot as well but I can't move my time slot any later. I could move it a little earlier but not by more than two weeks or so.
