Useful to gain some welding/brazing skills first...
Plenty of time for practicing if you decide to go on a Dave Yates course - fully booked for whole of 2016, dates for 2017 yet to be announced, but likely to be booked PDQ when they are. FWIW, I think he'd be an excellent teacher (he used to teach metalwork in a comprehensive for 3 years); he's interesting and approachable to talk to, and patient with fools to a remarkable degree.I'm an engineer, and welding/brazing is a skill that only practice and regular performing will perfect. To do it good and do it right you must do it regular
I guess my first thought was "wow, five days, that's a lot of time to commit". Then "five days? Is that long enough?"Not sure if you think that is too long or too short.
I'm a welder by trade. I did a seven year apprenticeship, Six of those included day release & evening class at college.
A different ball game now. City & Guilds is 12 x 2hrs evening class and that gives you an NVQ.
For those not in the know, NVQ stands for Not Very Qualified.
