Hello, I've been commuting to work on a cheap hybrid for almost a year now and have decided I want to get a road bike. I'm not sure of the size of my frame but I definitely want a larger one. I am 6'7" tall so probably need the largest frame going. I fancy buying a second hand bike and have seen many on Ebay. I am considering putting an offer in for this one

but I'm not sure if it is big enough for me. Do you think this frame is big enough? I've searched the internet about frame sizes but there seems to be a few ways of measuring them. With me not being able to see the bike before bidding, I thought it a good idea to put a post on here.

Cheers,

Jim.

That looks like a nice bike but if you are 6'7 I think a 61cm frame is a bit small for you?

You mayeven get away with a 61cm frame - depends on the length of the top tube and to some extent on your inside leg measurement - but the 64cm would be better I think. Maybe worth sending the guy an e-mail and ask him to confirm the frame size as not everyone knows how to measure a frame properly. I'm 6ft 4ins and have a 63cm frame.

Cheers guys,

I was chatting to the guy in my local bike shop and he said I could get away with a 60cm frame on a newer bike, due to the angle they are. I'm going for the 64cm one. Just been outbid though. Hope I haven't tipped either of you off!

Cheers,

James.

Rest assured it wasn't me. If I bought another bike into the house the missus would kill me.
