Finally found somewhere not heartbreakingly expensive:-

Maldon Shotblasting & Powdercoating in Essex

quoted £35-40 per frame plus vat, that gets shotblast, zinc and topcoat

Will be sending off 2 frames tomorrow, unless anyone knows anything negative about this company

sounds good, but if they mess up, it's best to have one messed up, not two.

i wouldn't send the second (better one) until i'd seen the results of the first

If you get your frame powder coated, what happens to the parts of the frame that have threaded areas?

I was thinking about this for my Galaxy but then noticed that Bob Jackson can do it about the same price that i was quoted for powder coating. (£65)

What do you reckon?

you do something to protect them, i.e old bottom bracket left in or something, not sure what they used on mine

Re Bob Jackson - just got a frame from them paint quality lovely

I checked on threaded parts and they use protective plugs of some description. Well I'm going for it and will report back. Probably run a thread on the bike builds, before, during and after. Keep me motivated and may be of use to others.

Well, write it down boy ......
I had a frame powder coated recently. 35 quid including shot blasting. To keep the threads clean I left a bolt in the smaller ones and the powder coaters fitted silicon bungs in the bottom bracket and head set. Choosing the colour was like having a Dulux chart in front of me. I could have had any shade of any colour. Chose a nice bright yellow.
Google 'Green powder coating Macclesfield'. Recommended.
