On my ride today my chain came off when I was changing from the big ring down to the small ring.
The chain wedged between the ring and the frame, Didn't jam though.
I have now got some scrapes on the chainstay, bottom bracket area, just behind the chainwheel.
Looks cosmetic, paint.
My frame is carbon, should I be worried or just touch it up and forget about it?
Is nail varnish and model paint ok to touch it up with?
Also is it worth getting a chain catcher?

Yes! (See my current signature link below, though it may have changed if you read this in the future.)

You usually just take the clear coat finish and the paint off - so I wouldn't worry.

It only gets bad when it goes really deep and you see loose carbon fibres.

I use the s-ram red chain catcher on my Shimano Di2 group set as its light. Its made from titanium however best of all its adjustable so you can set it perfectly
I then protect the chain stay with a m-part carbon chain stay protector.

I've got a BBB ChainWatch BCR-80C, which bolts on to my front derailleur. I can't use the Dog Fang (sorry, ColinJ), because the Specialized frame shape is anything but conventional.

Thanks for the replies.
I ordered a K-Edge chain catcher. I don't think the Deda Fang would fit on my Giant frame.
Pity they don't come with the bike.
