I presume most forum speak is like text speak. Unfortunately, I have no idea about most text speak, other than the obvious ones. Maybe living in rural France has taken its toll, or maybe I just don't have anyone to text . Anyway, is there a guide on here or can someone compile one to help me out. I would appreciate it, so that I can understand what you are all saying. Mind you maybe it is best that I don't know.

Just take an educated guess, that's what I do

Just realised my error. Of course it should be mes amis, mon ami or amie. Not sure if it was a typo or the fact that I am still crap after 10 years (written that is, fortunately my spoken French is better). I think it was the later BTW (see I am learning one language).

You absolutely do not need to learn a different way to write, just type it out as you choose.

Rather than learning all the acronyms, just start reading posts and look up one's that you can't figure out from the context of the post.
