My 4 year old RockShox J2s are fine when the weathers ok, but for the last week or so
have gone completely rigid in the cold weather.

I had the bike indoors last night as I was adjusting the brakes and the forks worked fine, but after a
couple of miles in the snow they barely move.

Is this normal?

When did you last get them serviced? It sounds like you could have a bit of water getting in there and freezing. Its deffinatley not normal unless you live in one of those unfortunate places which have experienced -20 temperatures, then all bets are off!

I've owned them for the last 2 years of their life - I think they were serviced at least once before then.

I was thinking they need a service anyway, and this seems to confirm it.
