Forerunner 305 with Cadence/Speed Sensor

Hi

I've ordered the cadence/speed sensor for my Garmin Forerunner 305. I was just wondering, when I set it up will it take the speed from the speed sensor by default or will it still use the GPS unless you disable it?

Ideally I'd like to leave the GPS on for downloading my routes at a later date but I know the GPS on it is pretty poor at tracking speed/distance on my routes as they're quite twisty/turny.

From reading about the Edge units it sounds like they default to the speed sensor but can't see if the running watches are the same.

D'oh!! Hey ho, a good reason to save up for an Edge unit at some point :-) Hopefully by the time I can afford one all the software bugs will be sorted as well!!
