Ok, much as it pains me to do this I'm going to have to let this go, funds required for new build and lack of slot in stable dictate. So it's as per title:-

I bought this in early 2009 and it's not had much use for the last 12 months, I use a hub gear bike for training and local stuff and haven't done much social riding so this has languished in garage. I'm looking for £550 plus delivery, viewing, test riding and collection are welcome, there have been modifications so here are the details:-

Size large, I'm 6'1" and I reckon it would fit in range 5'10" to 6'3" - it's compact geometry, seat angle 73, HT angle 71, effective top tube 596mm, chainstay 425mm, HT length 200mm semi integrated headset, 130mm rear vertical dropouts. Frame takes v or canti brakes only.

Frame - Giants Alliance tech which means it's part alloy and part carbon, the chainstays, bottom bracket shell, down tube and first 2/3 of seat tube are alloy the rest is carbon, including forks(alloy steerer). The total bike weight is about 24lbs, just over the original weight due to wheelset. Mounting points for mudguards, rack and two bottle cages, clearance for up to 700x35 with guards.

seatpost, saddle, stem(110mm +/-5deg), bars(31.8mm clamp 580mm wide) - are all original and very lightly used as I've been using different bars etc.

chainset - Truvativ square taper, 175mm cranks, 30/42/52, the 52 ring has only been used once, the 42 has been replaced and done less than 250 miles, the 30t hasn't had much use.

front derailler - just says Shimano on it

rear derailler - have put original back on as I've been using a MTB rapid rise, so lightly used Tiagra rear mech

chain & cassette - chain replaced along with 42t chainring and cassette is a 13-25, chain has powerlink

shifters/brakes/cables - Deore v-brakes and Deore dual control MTB shifters 9 speed, these are new as the originals were used elsewhere and I got these before deciding to go with drop bars and bar end shifters, just never got round to sending them back. I took the bike to my LBS to sort cables and indexing today, I could have done it myself but, as I'm selling I wanted to be sure it was spot on. They had to fit a new RD cable and the other cables are all very lightly used, sub 50 miles, as I had them together with the Deore shifters/brakes.

wheelset - the original wheelset is gone, it was a 28/24 spoke thingy and I had constant problems with spokes on the rear. So I had a new handbuilt wheelset from Spa, Tiagra rear, XT front hubs in silver, Rigida Sputnik rims(622-19) in black and 36h. I have also refitted the original Kenda puncture resistant tyres that came with the bike, the wheelset/tyres have done less than 400 miles and never punctured. The wheelset does add about 1lb to the bike but it's far tougher and the bike would now be able to handle light trails etc.

grips - I bunged on a cheapie set I had lying around.

Anything I've missed out just ask....cheers.....Al

Well, maybe this isn't as valuable to others as it is to me, so a price reduction to £480 and am open to sensible offers(non sensible will be ignored).

I've just weighed the bike and it is 23lbs/10.5kg - that includes pedals, new ones with clips and straps, and the 700x32 tyres.

I reckon this would work well as a commuter/allrounder as it is with the stronger wheelset, bigger tyres. Purchase of a lighter wheelset and chainset could see this as a sub 20lb weekend ride very easily....just a thought that occurred to me.
