I saw this post on a car forum I frequent and thought it might be of interest to someone on here:
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=227267

As the chap on the car forum states, it's not him selling the bike, but rather he's put an advert up on behalf of a friend of his. This makes it one of those "friend of a mate of a friend" type of sales, but if anyone's interested I'm sure we can arrange exchange of mobile numbers and leave the seller and prospective buyer to get on with it.

I haven't seen the bike itself, just to be clear. The chap on the car forum is a well-respected member but as always, proceed with your eyes open!

Moved it here as the CC Classifieds are for members to offer items they are selling and this is more of a 'pointer' to something someone else is selling elsewhere.

Cheers,
Shaun

You can't go wrong with that, it's unused. If you take it out to the shops for a paper, you'll put more wear on it than the current owner has since he bought it!

Thanks. I did get it, with a little knocked off, and it's a lovely bike. It feels a lot more like riding mt road or old cross bike, than any other mountain bike I've ridden. Very cool. I've been out for a couple of wet and muddy bike rides in our local country park (woodgate valley), and it's been great fun.

Great. I bought the cheaper version (v-brakes etc) and love it. I've got skinny tyres on mine now and it's almost as quick as the last road bike I had for commuting.

Absolutely, I commuted on it yesterday and was surprised at how fast I arrived. even with the standard studded tyres on.
