According to the
Dutch Wiki page, Fongers made genteel tourers for the well to do. Set up in 1884, it was acquired by Batavus in 1970 and went out of business in the same year. The factory was largely demolished and converted into offices in 1985. Today, the bike is apparently a much loved collectors item, with a lively trade in paraphernalia.
