According to the Dutch Wiki page, Fongers made genteel tourers for the well to do. Set up in 1884, it was acquired by Batavus in 1970 and went out of business in the same year. The factory was largely demolished and converted into offices in 1985. Today, the bike is apparently a much loved collectors item, with a lively trade in paraphernalia. If you go to the bottom right of this page and click on `Film uit de fabriek´, you can see a short 1920s´ film of the bikes being made.
