looks a bit dodgy so wondered if anyone might have recently had a similar bike stolen.

I actually looked at that one last night. Didn't make me suspect anything, guy seems to have got all the facts right. Maybe he hasn't sold anything on ebay before.

Nothing wrong with pick up only, out of the 4 cayo's on there 3 are pick up only.

It's only 2010 so he's more than likely the original owner if he hasn't nicked it - should have some supporting paperwork if it's legit. I'd certainly be asking to see a bit of proof of ownership before I started bidding the sort of money it's at.

One day auction, seller registered with ebay yesterday and a cut and paste description (mostly).

I was just saying it looked a little dodgy - it may well have been genuine.

However, regarding the pedals - these are always removed on stolen bikes if the original was supplied without pedals and it would help identify a stolen bike; so if anything it's further evidence!

Anyway, it's sold now so case closed I guess.

Agreed, it looked suspect. I wouldn't buy anything that didn't have a credible reason for sale.

The winning bidder still hasn't left feedback yet, perhaps they haven't collected it, but if it was me I'd have been collecting it like an excited kid within a day or two!
Perhaps the buyer got suspicious and decided to leave it?

classic, looks like I spotted the criminal before anyone else - check out his feedback now (score of -1)!

He has sold several bikes and never made any contact with the buyers! Scotlandyard here I come!

IMO he isn't a thief. His "crime" is that he doesn't appear to be prepared to let the bike go for less than he wants for it. This may be in breach of ebays rules and is certainly bad form but it doesn't make him a bike thief. Check his latest feedback.

Could be that he deals in secondhand bikes, and has just started using ebay!

To be honest, I dont really know the answer. But then niether do you. To label someone a thief without solid evidence is a little unfair to say the least.

If your so sure, make your thoughts known to ebay.
