Focus bikes

Seem to be spreading their wings. Got mine when only Wiggle had them, and now I have a flyer from Edinburgh Bike Coop with them in there, and today was in JE James and they had some of the 2012 models in there as well. Have to admit there were some lovely looking bikes there, they have done the Chesterfield Store refit very nicely.

Hmmm Ive got one and I think its terrible - Im not talking about the componentry Im talking about the bike handlling it just doesnt feel robust

Ive even added some decent wheels and tyres but the ride still isnt great

Im a 20mph commuter so I give bikes a fair bit of stick and we all know how badly pitted some of the road sides can be - Perhaps its me but Im not a fan and will probably not buy another focus based on my experience

All you Focus lovers dont shoot me down Im just putting my point of view across from a bike Ive had from new and done 2000 miles since jan on it

Incidentaly its a cyclocross bike so youd expect it to be able to handle well !

That's interesting. I've got the Focus Cayo - and it handles beautifully. I wouldn't have thought that the geometry between the CX and the Cayo would be that different. What I have noticed is that the ride is very harsh - it doesn't spare you any of the bumps on the road (something that my CAAD 10 excels in).

Had a Focus Cayo Pro, great bike overall, I just fell out with carbon fibre

Had a Focus Mares AX 1.0 CX bike, fantastic bike, should have kept it
