I have had my existing fluorescent jacket for many a year, it's a View From one, so they will tell you how old it is.

Sadly, it is now pretty faded and my wife has given me an ultimatum ... Get a new one or she'll just put it in the bin.

In the end, we agreed that 'Santa' could buy me a nice new one.

My question is therefore, which is the best fluorescent cycling jacket. I am sure there is a Goretex one somewhere, but they may be a bit too expensive. I just cycle to get about the place and normally only venture out on the bike if it is dry. If it is raining, or looks like rain, I use the car. Of course, I have been caught out in a shower, but as I am not going far, a 100% waterproof jacket is not really needed, a showerproof one will be OK.

Thanks !

Also, a bit cheaper, I have a Tenn Outdoors fluoro green waterproof that, so far, has proved to be waterproof.

Good evening,

I have one from Poundland, like many Poundland products it seems to appear and disappear on a quite confusing basis, but the great thing about this is that it is a lime green mesh with solid reflective strips.

The mesh appears reasonably close to solid during the day and the reflective strips are what matters in the dark.

Be warned I have the extra large size and I can't do the front up.

Bye

Does it need to be warm or merely ok for less than hot days? The Altura Night Vision is good, but very much a winter jacket

How warn is that? I bought an Aldi windproof jacket and its too hot with the lining material so looking for something long sleeved but not as hot

Its waterproof but not breathable. I find its fine for the purpose I bought it for, which is more or less the same as you. I mostly go out when its dry, but if it rains heavily I throw it on and it keeps me dry. Then when the rain stops I take it off. I leave the zip down a bit if it gets a bit warm and as I'm usually leaning forward rain doesnt get in. It also keeps me warm if it gets a bit chilly as it traps heat inside because its not breathable.

As far as I know, breathable&waterproof=expensive.

I also bought a breathable orange muddy fox cycling shirt at the same time and it's my favourite cycling top. I'll now let somebody else tell you why it isnt, as they obviously wear my cycling clothing much more than I do.;)
