Floor pump issue

I have a joe blow sport pump and I've never had any issues until now.
The problem I'm having is when I open the valve and push on the pumps nozzle and lock it on I can't push the pump handle down, I've tried how far I push the nozzle down but nothing. ?

Is it presta valve tube?

Ok, is there are coming out of the pump when you press down the handle? when not putting on the valve.

Yeah, and if i only half put the nozzle on it still blows air, it feels like im pushing it down to far but im not.

Try using a presta adapter if you have one.

Well, imagine the valve pictured upside down.
Undo presta valve. Screw on above adapter, attached pump.

Makes things a lot easier.
You can pick them up for a quid.
