I have a re-constructed right ACL and torn meniscus together with a naturally repaired (I hope!) tibial platou fracture on my right knee.

recently I have been experiencing pain in the other knee and wondering if its because I am over compensating. I also do experience a little bit of pain in my injured knee..but i sort of expect that.

I am also using spd cleats/pedals.

would changing to floaters help relieve the pain..if so what would you recommend?

I can;t comment on your injury, but hope you get things sorted real soon.

If it transpires you do need to tinker with your float, Speedplay Zero pedals have a huge amount of intricately tunable float that's dead easy to fettle. They aren't cheap, but they are fantastic

Also Crank Brothers pedals use an eggbeater, even on the platform versions. If you need more float SPDs are maybe not the answer for you.

Hope it clears up whichever route you take.
