Want to fit another rear light to my saddle post but I have an antura bag on the back which would hide said light. I wondered about a compact tripod flex mount and see if I could fit to the end which would benefit as it would be able to be to the driver side of my bag giving good vis. Have searched but wondered f anyone knows of a 'fit-for-purpose' stalk/etc?

Thanks

Super bright and multiple mount options including clipping to strap on the back of a saddle bag

I use 2, one solid, one flashing. One is mounted on the rack, the other clipped to the saddle bag

It is the fixing I need to get sorted not another light .. although tempting. Then I saw a cherry bomb yesterday and that looked nice too. I want to do something I can strap round the seat post and have a bendy arm that a light will go on the end that will show past the confines of the rear bag.

Thanks

If you've got one on your seatpost already then how about fitting one or two lights to the seat stays? I've done this before with Smart lights that come with two different sized brackets, one of which is the right size for most seat stays.

Ahh because I have my seat at a height that the Atura bag on the back obscures this is my conundrum; hence why I need a light higher and at the same time if I could have it so I pull it out to the side this may give better all round visibilty. I'll do an image to show what I mean.

Mozzy is This the bag you have?

If so I know a cure for you

No, but very similar. With said bag on my rack and due to the way the bag top angles a light would not be visible on seat post. Hence I thought if I could make or buy something as an extension and mount a light on the side it would work.

Breath held.

If you wear a lid, can you fit a red light to that ?

Ahhh, I dont wear one due to an existing medical condition. Would have been good though had it been that easy ...

Oh well with Heath Robinson hat on I set to work. I'm chuffed and it works a treat.

You can see in this picture I could not secure to seat post due to height restrictions.

Made a home made jooby using a spare (unused ... well I think unused) drain rodding pipe; flexible but strong.

Can be seen really easily to the side of the bag. Which was what I was after.

And in daylight with lights on.

Works a treat, stays put well, even over canal path. Noticed vehicles went slightly wider than usual as well.

Go on then altogether now ..... ave a larf

Really good result there! The added appearance of width must be really great in traffic.

If you wanted to fit yet more lights, you could attach a piece of PVC pipe, the same width as a seat post, to the rear of your rack (Using jubilee clips maybe?). It would run at 90 degrees to the length of the bike (Same as the handle bars) - Then you could have multiple lights attached to that.

The lights would be on their side, as the rear lights would be designed to fit on the vertical seat post, not a horizontal bar - but if you pick the right lights, this shouldn't be an issue.
