This is something that really hacks me off. I cycle 150 (ish) miles per week, take part in club rides, TT`s, sportives etc etc, I`m not particularly overweight (maybe half a stone give or take from the ideal), and am happy with my performance, BUT, I have flabby thighs, and it annoys the hell out of me. I don`t know what else to do to get rid of them. Anybody else had the same problem and managed to overcome it?

If so I would love to hear how?

Thanks in advance for any tips or hints:wacko:

Flabby as in loads of excess blubber flapping about, or a poor skin fit because muscle tone is lacking?

Not sure, not a vast a mount, just enough to be a disappointment, maybe it is lack of muscle tone? I can`t see how I can work any harder to gain any?

What gender are you? If female, it's not unusual, also age is not over kind to muscle tone!

Try something other than cycling...swimming, running, rowing, lunges, squats, gym machines....train other muscles, is it inner or outer thighs?

And does it matter? Just wear tighter lycra ;)

I am male and it`s inner thighs. I tried to use leg warmers recently and they just fall down due to my hideous leg shape:angry::thumbsdown:

I'd avoid leg warmers...bad look on the bike ;)

Get yourself down to the gym I guess

I have just noticed that the skin on my thighs is looking a bit loose now that I have lost a lot of weight. The only way that is going to tighten up is for me to develop huge muscles, but they are probably never going to be big enough to take up the slack!

If your 'flab' is fat, then lose the fat. If it is loose skin, then you are in the same boat as me.

While I agree with you I can`t believe I`m not doing enough already??
Do you do other stuff apart from cycling...judging by my legs it works only the outer quad, and possibly the vmo but not the Inner thigh as you say

Have a good around for exercises that target the inner thigh and see what there is

I've only started to get definition in my thighs with a combination of increased mileage and decreased eating :S
