What are you converting - geared to SS? You only need a C spanner if you have a single speed hub.

Lockring isn't really needed - only fitted one recently as it came with my wheels. I wouldn't use one of those tools with one peg, you need a "c" spanner with more. Skinned knuckles !

The second one for an old, loose ball bearing, bottom bracket and for a lock ring. If you don't have one, you can put a sacrificial screwdriver in the slot as a drift and tap that with a hammer.
The round black tool is a top hat tool used to undo Shimano hollow tech ii bottom bracket cups with one side and to tighten the non drive crank arm onto the bottom bracket with the other.
the second one being this

Post a picture of the BB you currently have. If it's the old cup ones, we would all say replace with the UN53,54,55 version

Simple. They don't need the spanner.

Post pictures of what you have now.

it is the old cup i know as last time a mate did it for me!
i would love to replace with un54/55 but i only just have the funds present to give my brother a tenner for his bday tomorrow and buy a crank extractor and bike repair stand and one or two tools for BB
and if i did get a un54 or 5 then i still need a tool like this, right
