What I want to know is do I need any grease to put on anywhere, I know how to get off the chainset and I have this tool to do the bottom bracket:

I will probably put some copper ease on the BB threads but I just want to make sure I dont need some grease to put on the chainset spindle or whereever before I take it to bits.

a) copper ease

It depends on your BB shell Phil.

With mine (Campy) the problem has been making sure the BB stays where it is and doesn't work loose - so it's PTFE tape.

Besides those BB's don't last long enough to get stuck.

b) grease elsewhere is not needed.

c) make sure you driveline is ok or use the spacers.

Thanks for that I have just removed it using the Park BBT-9 Tool I got the Chainset and BB off in less than 10 mins, I like these external type BB very easy to work with  now just got to find my copper ease:unsure:
