Fitting child trailer to Cube bike

Hi guys,

hopefully simple one this! I've got a Cube Aim 29er 2013 Hardtail and have picked up an old Smokey Joe twin seat child trailer to take my little one out (so that I can ride in the day time).

However, mine did not come with instructions and I cannot find anything on the internet (yet) that shows where exactly it fits onto my bikes frame (I assume its the frame as it is a different connector than for the rear axle - I think).

I think it fits onto the lower bar of the rear triangle of the frame? on the disc brake rather than derailleur side?

Here is a pic of the same model from google - if anyone has any ideas, i would love to give it an (empty) test run this evening!).

They just clamp on at the rear chainstay (non drive side) and the strap is a safety link. Check tension on the big black nut thing after about a mile they do tend to wriggle loose as they settle into place.Clearance might be a bit tight with a disc brake though, never tried it on my disc bike only on an old Raleigh MTB (the Tractor) and my Ridgeback.
It may be possible to change the clamp for an axle bracket but the spring is crucial as it acts as a Universal joint to allow articulation of the trailer.
Good strong trailer though if a bit heavy I've had one for 11-12 years

Thankyou! Yes I took it for a 14 mile test run, and it was fine, the bracket did come loose towards home, so I changed its position a little, seems to be ok now.

Thanks!

Depending on the weight of the dog I would just add several layers of corrugated cardboard (available for free from supermarkets) and on top of that I would put an old blanket - maybe fixate the latter one via a few safety pins.
