Fitting brake to carbon fork.

Things have changed quite a lot since I last built up a bike about 30 years ago !

I am trying to attach a Campagnolo Centaur front brake of early 90's vintage to the carbon fork of a Specialized Langster [no flames please]. The brake is allen key attachment style and comes with two serrated and one plain washer.
One serrated washer goes on the front of the fork, but the other washers do not fit into the hole at the back of the fork crown. There is an aluminium steerer in the fork and it looks as though the allen bolt will thread onto the brake spindle and snuggle up ok to the aluminium steerer.

Question is, will it be ok to attach the brake without the serrated washer and plain washer, relying alone on the allen bolt ?

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks,

Don.

No washer goes into the recess in the fork, the sleeve nut goes in there alone. I never use serrated washers on a carbon fork, just a plain one at the front.

Thanks for the reply SJ.

That sounds nice and simple ! I must admit I was a bit concerned about the carbon getting chewed up, but now I can ditch the serrated washers.

Cheers,

Don.
