fitting 16" wheels in a 14" frame

Can it be done and will it work ?
Mini ck has fecked his back wheel and swmbo does not want to buy another bike as he has the next size up ready but its to big for him frame size wise .He can ride the bigger bike but cant stop without falling off due to the frame design stopping the saddle going any lower.
So can i put the wheels off the bigger bike in the smaller frame?

Try it, but I'd expect not. The larger wheel is likely to hit the bridge on the chainstays or seatstays. And the brakes won't line up.

Ordered another wheel off fleabay in the end, mrs ck was against it as she has her don` t spend money head on ( pot and kettle come to mind ) .
