Just back from the Action Medical Research York 100 mile ride. My first organised event after 3 1/2 months cycling.

Enjoyed it although the headwind for the last 50 miles was rather nasty, did get to tag along with about 5 others for some of it which helped, but when I took a turn on the front they dropped back and I was on my own again!

At half way I realised that under 6 hours rolling time was possible for 100 miles so I kept my self going as much as possible, and did 100 miles in 5.57 which I'm chuffed with as there were a few hills and the wind. Total ride 102 miles, 6.06.

Next is Manchester 100 which i think is flatter, and I'll have some mates to ride with, as even though I rode with quite a few different people and had some good chats, I did spend about 40 miles on my tod with no one in sight.

Wife and daughter had a nice walk into York and did some shopping, just hope the legs recover, will have tomorrow off, then back on it on Tuesday.

nice one!

come and d the dragon ride in south wales 2012

Theres some big changes to the Dragon. For 2012 Starts in Margam park and the medio route is a bit more challenging than 2011 going over Bwlch Rhigos and Cimla hills as it did a few years ago.

I did the Gran Fondo last year Probably would have done the medio 2012 but unfortunately it doesnt fit in with my work rota next year or would have been tempted (may do the Merlin instead).Merlin

The Dragon comes on line about the 14th December, anyone interested be aware it sells out in less than 24 hours. Dragon 2012
