Well went out a bought my first bike, a Pinnacle Lithium Three hybrid bicycle as my first bike for getting fit. Once my fitness levels get better i shall be getting a road bike as well but i needed a bike for going out with my daughter as well as training...

Overall the build quality is good and the components seem to be ok for what i want at the moment, obviously not top spec but good enough for me

Well as i said i took my daughter out for a general ride which in fact ended up being 20 miles so i was shocked i managed this on the first ride

, hit some very long hills which if im honest i had to walk the last bit of them

, but in general had a very pleasent day enjoying the countryside in kent.

Will have to pick up some of those designer padded boxers or shorts because my ass was beginning to hurt on the way home and i think that slowed me down as well

Not breaking any speed records though i think we were riding for the best part of 4 1/2 hours and we had a nice relaxing time in the country park so my little one could play in the park

Hopefully with a bit of effort and some padded shorts my rides will get longer and less time consuming as the weeks go on

Well done. Wear the cycling shorts under a set of baggy shorts if you don't want to 'stand out'. Certainly keep your neither regions happy by not having seams and stuff rubbing.

Take your time and enjoy it - we often end up doing 20 miles with the kids - son of 10 and daughter of 8, who uses the tag-a-long for longer rides. Wife happy to do the distance now she has a ladies Pinnacle Stratus 3.0, rather than a cheap Apollo MTB.

Why do we proclaim our love of all things cycling and then spend half our time trying to go faster so we can get it all over and done with quicker than ever? When I play golf I take at least 20 shots a round more than my mates, that's what I call getting value for money!
